MikroTik RB5009UG+S+IN is a powerful compact RouterOS v7 router featuring 7 Gigabit Ethernet ports, 1 × 2.5G Ethernet, 1 × 10G SFP+, USB 3.0, 1GB DDR4 RAM and a quad-core ARM64 CPU. With 802.3af/at PoE-in, multiple power options and passive cooling, it is ideal for high-performance home labs, businesses, servers, fiber networks and advanced routing environments.

The MikroTik RB5009UG+S+IN is a compact, high-performance Ethernet router designed for demanding home labs, small and medium businesses, network infrastructure and advanced routing environments. It combines seven Gigabit Ethernet ports, one 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port and one 10G SFP+ port in a compact enclosure.
At the heart of the RB5009 is a quad-core Marvell Armada 88F7040 ARM64 processor running at up to 1.4GHz, paired with 1GB DDR4 RAM and 1GB NAND storage. It runs RouterOS v7 with a Level 5 license, providing extensive routing, firewall, VPN, VLAN, traffic-management and network-monitoring capabilities.
The router is particularly useful for high-throughput networks because it combines conventional Gigabit connectivity with 2.5G Ethernet and a 10G SFP+ interface. MikroTik connects the ports through an 88E6393 switch chip with a 10Gbps full-duplex connection to the CPU.
The RB5009 also features USB 3.0, multiple powering options and passive cooling. Its metal enclosure acts as a heatsink, helping it handle sustained workloads without requiring an active cooling fan.

The RB5009 provides nine wired interfaces in total:
This combination allows the router to connect traditional Gigabit devices while also providing faster interfaces for modern servers, storage systems, uplinks and high-speed network infrastructure.
The 2.5G Ethernet port is particularly useful for devices that require more than 1Gbps but do not require a full 10Gbps connection.
The dedicated 10G SFP+ cage provides high-speed fiber or direct-attach connectivity when paired with a compatible SFP+ module or cable.
It can be used for high-speed network uplinks, server connections, storage networking and other applications where 10Gbps connectivity is required.
The RB5009 uses a quad-core ARM64 Marvell Armada 88F7040 processor with a nominal frequency range of 350–1400MHz.
Combined with 1GB DDR4 RAM, the hardware provides substantial processing resources for advanced RouterOS configurations and demanding routing workloads.
The RB5009 runs RouterOS v7, MikroTik’s full-featured network operating system.
It supports advanced functionality including:
The device comes with RouterOS already installed and licensed.
The full-size USB 3.0 Type-A port adds flexibility for compatible peripherals and storage-related applications.
The port can provide up to 1.5A USB current according to MikroTik’s specifications.
The RB5009 can be powered in three different ways:
The DC jack and terminal input accept 24–57V DC, while PoE-in supports 802.3af/at.
This gives installers flexibility when deploying the router in different network environments.
The RB5009 uses passive cooling rather than an active fan.
MikroTik positions the CPU and switch chip on the underside of the board so that the metal enclosure can function as a large heatsink. This helps keep the device compact while avoiding fan noise.
The RB5009 measures just 220 × 125 × 22mm.
With the appropriate mounting accessories, up to four RB5009 routers can be installed in a single 1U rackmount space, making the platform useful where rack space is limited.
The RB5009 is suitable for:
The combination of 1G, 2.5G and 10G interfaces makes the RB5009 suitable for networks transitioning beyond traditional Gigabit connectivity.
RouterOS v7 provides extensive routing, firewall, VPN and traffic-management capabilities.
The quad-core ARM64 processor and 1GB RAM provide a strong hardware platform for demanding network configurations.
Multiple power options and optional rack mounting make deployment easier in different environments.
Passive cooling eliminates the need for a fan.
Four units can fit into a single 1U rack space with the appropriate mounting accessories.
